Many visitors recognize the Utah Olympic Park from the Olympic Winter Games, however, construction of the park started well before the games. The facility opened in 1993 with the inauguration of the Ski jump facilities and splash pool and since then has continued to expand.
It was the Utah Olympic Park that helped close the deal for the Winter Games. Since that time, the park has continued to welcome visitors who are eager to try their hand at bobsledding and Nordic jumping. There are several facilities available to guests at the Utah Olympic Park.
The Bobsled and Luge Track is over 1,300 meters long with 15 curves. It took two years to complete and opened in 1997. There are six Nordic jumps which provide an inspiring greeting to visitors of the Park. The addition of a cross country track was made which provides several options for skiers. The Freestyle Aerial Splash pool is certainly a unique experience and is open all year round. If skiing and snow sports aren't your cup of tea then a visit to the Joe Quinney Winter Sports Center is a great alternative. Home to the Alf Engen Ski Museum, the Sports Center has a café, shop, and several conference rooms; the Joe Quinney Winter Sports Center is a modern facility.
The Utah Olympic Park is located in
Park City. Admission to the Park is reasonable though the fee to use some of the facilities can be pricey, though well worth it for the experience. Utah offers several premier ski and winter resorts and the Utah Olympic Park is certainly considered among the best, not only for its Winter Games history but for the quality of the powder and facilities provided.
