If you happen to be in Salt Lake City, then don't miss a chance to visit the Historic
Temple Square. You will have a feel of the culture and history of Utah. With its clear and symmetrical features, the Temple is a pleasant sight. The Assembly Hall has interesting architectural designs with irregular textures in dark stone.
The grounds surrounding the
Temple Square are lush green and give a feeling of peace and serenity. There are friendly tour guides who help you take a tour of the place. At the visitors' center, the ceilings and walls are painted with pictures of planetary bodies. There is statue of Jesus at the center that is actually a replica of a statue in Denmark.
The Temple is a place of worship that is still in use. There are organ recitals at noon and also rehearsals by the Tabernacle choir held at the Tabernacle. You can spend some time listening to the choir and the recitals.
Parking is free after 5 p.m on the nearby streets. You can also avail of the underground parking facility at the Marriot, close to the Temple grounds. If need be, you can also park at the deck at the ZCMI center, where the first two hours of parking are free.
The Temple square is situated in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City. So you can visit a lot of Malls and eat out and good restaurants while visiting the
Temple Square. Although the atmosphere that surrounds the Square is of prayer and worship, you get to experience a feeling of peace when you visit the
Temple Square.
