The Independence Day celebrations at Salt Lake City span a period of 2-4 days. Many locations across Salt Lake City are spruced up and host a wide variety of events and activities with music, dance, performances and great food. The Rice Eccles Stadium hosts the annual Freedom Blast. This event has featured spectacular performances such as style diving, comedy diving, and stunt BMX racing. Not to mention performances by The Flying Fools and Kelly Clarkson of American Idol fame as well as over 1000 dance and cheer groups from around Utah. Rice Eccles Stadium is located at 451 South 1400 East. At dusk you are treated to a stunning firework display that brings the night sky to life.
This is the Place Heritage Park has numerous activities to keep you and your family engrossed for hours. Their well planned, interactive activities bring the feeling of belonging to a great nation, closer home. The park gives a little more to do, rather than see, by way of Liberty Days. Festivities are held here to mark the independence struggle of this country. Activities include exploring realistic pioneer era buildings, demonstrations on loading a black powder rifle, blacksmithing, and pioneer style games. There will be no fireworks for this event. Hours are 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and
This is the Place Heritage Park is located at 2504 East Sunnyside Ave, on the opposite side of street from the
Hogle Zoo. Admission prices are $6.00 for adults and $4.00 for seniors and children.
A little up North you can head to the Eaglewood Golf Course for food, live entertainment, plenty of games for the kids, and enjoy an amazing firework display at dusk. Events and concerts are also held here and the golf course is located at 1110 East Eaglewood Drive.
