Temple Square in Salt Lake City

Temple Square is a historic area stretching across ten acres in downtown Salt Lake City. Temple Square was originally founded in 1847 by Brigham Young and features a high granite wall surrounding the Mormon Tabernacle, the Assembly Hall, the Mormon Temple, the Family History Library, and several other buildings that focus on the artifacts and memorabilia covering the history of the Mormon movement. Temple Square stands as one of the most popular and visited tourist attractions in the entire state, drawing millions of people inside its walls each year.

On a walking tour, you can learn more about the Mormon religion, the rich history of the temple, and the beautiful Gothic architecture of the buildings.
